Teaching
I have taught over a dozen classes in two countries. My experience teaching has shown me that students connect with material in their own ways and at their own pace, but that lasting connection is invaluable. Academic leadership
I served as the inaugural graduate student representative for my department at Stanford, a role which allowed me to directly connect graduate students to faculty. This position helped me appreciate the importance of regular opportunities for group reflection, and the need to craft organizational processes that protect these channels so that connections remain strong and communication is always clear.

Campus leadership
I have held two main leadership positions on campus: as the community liaison in a graduate student residence, and as the co-chair of a social committee that served the 10,000+ graduate students at Stanford. Both of these positions gave me a deep appreciation for diversity, and for the ways in which groups can consciously create and build culture through small acts that reinforce community and forge lasting connections.
